The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a con�trite spirit
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
He keepeth all his bones : not one of them is broken.
Evil shall slay the wicked : and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
The Lord redeemeth the soul of His servants t and none of them that trust in Him shall be desolate.
If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say ;
If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers : the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Out of the depth have I cried unto Thee, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice: let Thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
If Thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand ? But there is forgiveness with Thee, that Thou mayest be feared.
I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in His word do I hope.
My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption.
And He shall redeem Israel from all his sins. |
Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found Him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship Him also.
When they had heard the king, they de�parted ; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother, and fell down, and worshiped Him : and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts ; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, arise, and take the young child and His mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word : for Herod will seek the young child to destroy Him.
When he arose, he took the young child and His mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, out of Egypt have I called my Son.
And there were in the same country shep�herds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them ; and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you ; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good-will toward men.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given : and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Won�derful, Counselor, The mighty God, The ever�lasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to es�tablish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by Him ; and without Him was not anything made that was made.
In Him was life ; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
The same came for a witness, to bear witness |

Leader. Now when Jesus was born in Bethle-item of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
Response. Saying, where is He that is born King of the Jews ? for we have seen His star in the east, and are come to worship Him.
L. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
R. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he de�manded of them where Christ should be born.
And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judea; for thus it is written by the prophet.
And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, |
